CVK workshops and training sessions are aimed at enhancing attendees' knowledge base that’s applicable to the needs of their client’s. Workshops and training are built on identifying and dismantling bias in our work and how it plays out in practice. (3 hours) This training provides practitioners with an opportunity to learn practical ways to engage and collaborate with communities are overexposed to violence and systemic racism. Through didactic learning and case studies, attendees will understand the importance of incorporating a foundation of practice humility into our work. At the conclusion of this training, attendees will have a definition of trauma-informed and healing-centered practices.

(4 hours) This training will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn different strategies for engaging with clients and participants. By focusing on the foundations of practice, such as partnership, accountability, prioritizing needs, and recognizing implicit bias, participants will understand how these four areas of focus can enhance our client-facing work. Through the use of role plays, group discussions, and case, direct service staff will learn how these strategies can be applied across various settings.

Focus on trauma survivors

(4 hours) Attendees of this training will have an opportunity to learn strategies on ways to deliver individual and group therapy. This training will focus on how to work specifically with trauma survivors in a counseling session. Attendees will receive an introduction to various treatment modalities (CBT, EMDR, somatic therapy, psychodynamic therapy) to build into their own practice.
